Technical Accounting Specialist Job- 9 month Contract Langley, GB
Working within the GDS Controllership function this role will play a key function in ensuring adherence to US GAAP.
Reporting directly to the GDS Controller this role will work very closely with the two GDS Regional Controllers, the Travelport Technical Accounting group, regional Commercial finance leads, the GDS Corporate Reporting group, Tax, Treasury and Internal Audit.
Main Responsibilities
· Research and develop accounting positions on technical issues including the drafting of accounting papers on such matters
· Liaise with Travelport Technical group and/or external auditors regarding new or recurring accounting issues
· Provide technical accounting advice on disclosure items within Travelport external financial statements including corporate governance related disclosures
· Analyse compliance with Travelport accounting policies at group and local entity level
· Undertake periodic review of all significant accounting policies
· Roll out standardised policies across the GDS and ensure finance staff and business owners are aware of accounting policies in place and trained on application of policies relevant to their role"
